Ashok Kumar (b.1965, Bihar, India) graduated from Patna College of Arts in 1987 and studied at École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Marseille, France, on scholarship in 1990. In 2015–2016, he was awarded the prestigious Senior Fellowship in Painting by the Indian Ministry of Culture. His works have been exhibited in France, Peru, China, Chile, the United States, and beyond, with participation in numerous international festivals, workshops, and residencies. In 2017, his work was selected for the Artsy Page of ACS Gallery, Chicago, earning critical acclaim. Between 2020–2025, about 800 of his artworks entered the collections of museums, galleries, and private collectors across Europe, the UK, Russia, and India. Dedicated to both India’s cultural heritage and the universal language of creativity, Kumar’s paintings explore semi-figurative human forms interwoven with nature and organic imagery, offering viewers a vision of heightened consciousness and spirituality.
